THE OFFICE
The office was established in 1986 in its current 150 m2 space by Markos Lyras, an electrical engineer, with the express goal of providing high-quality electromechanical design and supervision consultancy The services we provide span the gamut from feasibility studies and concept designs through to detailed designs and construction supervision, as well as post-construction and follow-up services. Beyond electromechanical design, included in the office’s capabilities are landscaping and infrastructure design.
For the past 26 years, the our staff has worked on a wide range of engineering projects including, residences, office buildings, hotels, schools, nurseries, university buildings, hospitals, garages and maintenance facilities, and sports and recreational facilities. We have worked on building restorations and renovations, street lighting and numerous infrastructure projects including the design of public squares, roads, sewerage networks, sewage treatment plants and pump stations, marinas, and facilities for recreational fishing.
We have particular expertise in plumbing; heating, cooling, ventilation and air-conditioning systems; high and low voltage electrical design; lighting; fire alarm and fire-fighting systems; systems for provision and distribution of medical gases; and automatic and computer-based control systems. As a result, we have successfully completed a wide range of projects from the most basic to the most sophisticated and complex.
We strive to keep current in our field by keep abreast of new technologies, approaches, products, and regulations in order to provide our clients with the latest know-how in meeting their electromechanical design needs.
Our core staff includes:
•Markos Lyras: the managing director of the consultancy is a graduate of the National Polytechnic University in Athens with a degree in electrical engineering. He coordinates and supervises the staff in the development of each project and has overall responsibility for the smooth and timely delivery of every project and endeavor to ensure that our services are of the highest quality, on time and within budget.
•Athanasia Petreli: a mechanical engineer and graduate of the University of Patras. She is involved in the design of water supply systems; sewerage systems; fire alarm and fire-fighting systems with additional expertise in the design of high voltage distribution; electrical substations; and elevators and other mechanical systems. She also participates in the preparation of bills of quantities and construction cost estimates.
•Athanasios Spiliotopoulos: a graduate of the University of Thessaloniki with a degree in mechanical engineering. He [joined us from an associate office in 2011 and] is involved in the study and design of heating and ventilating systems; lighting; high and low voltage systems; electrical substations; grounding (earthing) systems; lightning protection; computerized and automatic control systems; building management systems; and in the preparation of bills of quantities, construction cost estimates and in the complilation of tender documents.
•Giannis Tripidakis: a mechanical engineer. He is involved in the design of heating and ventilating systems; also participates in the preparation of bills of quantities and construction cost estimates and in the complilation of tender documents.
•Maria Lamprou: secretary and administration assistant responsible for the maintenance of the office web site www.markoslyras.
